Surroundings
Naples is located in Southwest Florida, right next to the Gulf of Mexico. The direct flights from Germany to the international airport in Fort Myers make it a destination that is easy to reach. Naples is an elegant vacation destination with a Mediterranean flair. The enchanting small city is home to many wealthy Americans as well as Europeans. Naples is known for its remarkable cleanliness and park-like green areas. Palm trees and tropical plants give the streets of Naples a Caribbean appearance.
Due to its mild climate the average temperature rarely falls below 20°C even in the wintertime. The same is true for the water temperature. Naples has more than 20 km of gorgeous, white beaches, some of which connect to mangrove forests that have remained untouched by mankind. They make the ideal location to watch the amazing sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. In addition to the beaches, Naples offers a number of other recreational activities. Water sports enthusiasts can explore the coast by renting a boat or discover the mangroves by renting a canoe. Trips to the Everglades or to Key West are offered, as are deep sea fishing trips and manatee watching. Golfers can choose from 50 golf courses nearby, some of which were designed by some of the most well-known architects. All golf courses are in immaculate condition and many stretch through the woods or along the water.
Naples is a shopping paradise. A number of shopping centers and elegant shops of Venetian Bay and the Waterside Shops offer an unlimited shopping pleasure. The shops on the historic Third Street and on Fifth Avenue invite you to go shopping as well. Whether you are looking for exclusive items from a boutique, popular designer brands or sport and casual clothing - you will be able to find a bargain here.
A variety of restaurants offer versatile dishes and drinks and a number of taverns offer outdoor seating on a terrace. Naples also has a lot to offer culturally. Aside from museums, art exhibitions and performances by well-known celebrities, a trip to the Philharmonic Center of the Art, also known as the Phil for short, is also appealing. The Phil is a concert hall and a theatre and accordingly one of a kind.
